Saturday Nite Alive in Fort Lauderdale

Hi! I was driving down Fort Lauderdale Beach Saturday night to meet some friends for dinner when I saw all of the festivities that were part of Saturday Nite Alive, presented by Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park. There were 20 bands, including: Taiko drummers, House of Flying Cards, and the Bahamian Junkanoo Revues. Also, there are 20 different art vendors showing off their work and it looked very interesting! Many of the beach hotels, restaurants, and bars participated by offering ...

Spa Day – TGIF

Hi! When I was in The Spa interviewing our new Spa Director, Eduardo Cuevas, I couldn't resist booking a massage for myself. I just wrapped up my massage and it was wonderful. Marge, who has been with us for 5 years, was my technician and she did the best deep tissue massage I have ever had! I can't rave enough about how amazing I feel after that massage. Marge used the Pure Fiji Coconut Oil on me, because it is my absolute ...

Menu Pick: Veg. Chimichurri Portabella Burger

Hi! I just came from lunch and I got to try out the new menu in the Palm Garden Room. I chose the Vegetarian Chimichurri Portabella Burger, a brand new dish added to the menu. OMG! It was so good and still very healthy! I loved the combination of the portabella with the squash, roasted red pepper, and avocado on the multi-grain ciabatta. Even though I am not a vegetarian, I am a big fan of having a variety meat-free ...

One of my kids tried the Hanger Steak & Caprese Salad which has tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, blue cheese, tomato vinaigrette, blackberry ...

Family Update: Where Do I Begin

Hi! I have taken some time off to settle some family issues but I am back better than ever! I'm going to try to write at least once a week and make sure all of you stay up to date on what's happening around the resort. My kids are out of school for the summer, so I plan to spend a lot of time at the resort with them. It is pretty cool that my kids chose not to do any ...

Hi! Last weekend was so exciting in our great city! Friday night was the Las Olas Wine and Food Festival, which I attended with one of my girlfriends. There were 40 tables set up all down Las Olas Blvd. serving different wines from around the world. There was also signature cuisine from 70 different restaurants. It was very hard not to over indulge so I am glad that we were at least walking while we were eating so many delicious ...

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival

Hi! Yesterday I took the kids to the St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival on Las Olas and we had a great time! The parade began promptly at noon and there was so much to see. There were several floats that were really neat with lots of decorations. My girls enjoyed seeing the Miss America contestants, all from different counties around Florida, riding in antique cars. There were fire trucks and there was even a Swat vehicle that looked liked a ...

Seafood Special: Mako dish was Incredible

Hi! The Resort is very busy and everyone seems to be happy! Friday night I took my girlfriend, her kids and my kids to dinner at Lago Mar's restaurant Acquario and it was incredible.  Chef Phil had a seafood special on the menu that I just had to taste. The dish was fresh mako shark, flown in from Hawaii, served with a pineapple ginger bourbon sauce and duck egg fried rice. The glaze on this dish was so tasty! Though ...
