Hi! I cannot believe it is already October and what a weekend we just had to start the month off! Friday evening, Chris and I went to an event in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The very elegant party was hosted by a family who are members of Lago Mar, and they live right around the corner in a beautiful home on the inlet. Every year they host this event, filling their home with pink roses and welcoming everyone with a glass of champagne. Outside on their patio they set up inviting food stations and a few bars. Just sitting at a beautifully decorated table with a view of the ocean and inlet and enjoying delicious food was spectacular but, to top it off, they had a humongous tent with a pink glow throughout and big white couches for guests to lounge on and sip on cocktails while the Chase Band was performing. I don’t think I have danced that much in a long time. We really had a nice time and it definitely got me in the spirit to focus on Breast Cancer Awareness.

I have two more functions that I have been invited to so I think I will just pop into the Resort Shop to pick out some more pink pieces to wear in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. I have my eye on a Joyous and Free pink/green dress that is adorable! I love this new “trapeze” style of dress that The Resort Shop has been carrying for about a month. The weather is definitely changing and our town is getting busier. This past week, as I have been driving down A1A each morning to take the kids to school, I have watched the set up for the Fort Lauderdale Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour. It’s quite impressive and only a 5 to 10 minute walk down the beach. We were proud to host the finals in our city and a record prize of $100,000 was paid to winners of both the men’s and women’s competitions, which was the highest ever paycheck in beach volleyball. What a weekend.
