Hi! I know many of you have probably seen the latest issue of Gold Coast Magazine and noticed the beautiful cover. I am proud to say that it was taken here at Lago Mar Resort. There is also a photo spread featuring a gorgeous bride looking out over one of our balconies.
“A special effort went into the covers. Separate photographs were shot for Gold Coast, Boca Life and Fort Lauderdale, the latter our hotel version. This elaborate production deserved a romantic location, and the Lago Mar Resort and Club filled that role perfectly. Our thanks to General Manager Jim Pancallo and Events Manager Patricia Paul for all the assistance to Suzanne Delawar’s photography crew. We also appreciate the contributions of some of Las Olas Boulevard’s best known shops – Zola Keller (bridal dress), Carroll’s Jewelers and Moda Mario (groom’s attire) in making these among our more attractive covers.”
I had the privilege to actually get to see that behind-the scenes-work that goes into a project like this and it was very exciting! The dresses that the models wore were from Zola Keller, a world famous bridal and special occasions shop located on Las Olas Boulevard.
About Zola Keller
Zola is an absolute master at what she does and has been in business for over 25 years. Her shop was voted #1 Bridal Salon in South Florida by the local ABC affiliate channel, Local 10, poll. In addition to wedding dresses, Zola carries mother of the bride, pageant and evening dresses.
A quick story for you: I purchased the most exquisite Stephen Yearick gown from Zola in the beginning of December for the Winterfest Ball and have never felt more beautiful or had as many compliments as I did that evening. I also wore the same dress to the Red Cross Event that I attended in London. It was a big hit there, too!
I hope you enjoy the behind the scenes pictures and pictures of me in my dress from Zola Keller!
Current Wedding Trends
As far as new trends go for weddings at Lago Mar, we are seeing a lot of themed weddings. For example, one recent couple had a “Dr. Who” inspired wedding. Even the colors were based on classic sci-fi series.
Another trend we are seeing is the coordination of the centerpieces with some life event of the bride and/or groom. For example, a bride chose to include a picture of her grandmother in the centerpiece. She wanted to honor her grandmother because it was she who had brought the bride to Lago Mar every year since childhood.
Frequently, we are also seeing more couples embracing bright colors in their choice of linens and fabrics. As well, we are receiving a lot of requests for “action dessert stations”, such as a make-your-own ice cream sundae set-up.
Lastly, we are seeing more furniture incorporated into the ballroom setup, creating an interesting residential atmosphere rather than that of a ballroom feel.
