Interview with Amber in The Resort Shop

Hi!  I just left Lago a little while ago.  The boys and I decided to go over for some lunch on The Seagrape Terrace and visit Amber in The Resort Shop.  All of my kids love Amber.  She is beautiful and great with kids….She has been with us for 12 years, so she has been with me for all of the births of my kids and watched them grow.  Before I tell you about the shop I will tell you that it was so much fun to eat lunch with the kids on the terrace.  They are just now old enough to sit still long enough to make it enjoyable.  The weather, too, is perfectly sunny, and there is a nice ocean breeze.  For lunch I had one of my favorites;  the Way Asian Salad.  It consists of mixed greens, mandarin oranges, water chestnuts, cashew pieces, carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, and  grilled chicken with sesame ginger vinaigrette.  It is delicious and light.  The boys ordered chicken fingers with fries.  No one makes better chicken fingers that Chef Phil.   I always take them to the pre-school when I am in charge of snack because the kids can’t get enough of them…After lunch we visited the Soda Shop where the boys had mint chocolate chip ice cream cones with sprinkles.  Then we decided to visit Amber and see what was new!  She told me all about the swimwear show that she and her mom, who is her co-manager, just attended in Miami.  It is a 2 day event that they go to every year.   She described the fashion show from Gottex.   I actuallly used to go with my mom to this show when I was in my late teens and early twenties.  It was very exciting and kind of mind boggling to chose between the many different lines and styles that were being modeled by super tall and skinny girls with high heels on.  Amber told me that she ordered some exquisite Trina Turk swimwear with vivid colors and pretty hardware.  I can’t wait for that to come in!!  She also found a lot of embellished tunics with coordinating swimsuits and hats that have style and sun protection.  That is right up my alley!!  Lastly, she reported to me that she saw  trends for one shoulder suits and lacy, feminine cover-ups.  While talking to her I saw a few things that I wanted to try on but I had to do a tennis pick-up so maybe tomorrow…. I will let you know….Deb
