Hi! My favorite holiday is almost here, Mother’s Day! I know that Chef Grant has an amazing brunch planned for all of us moms to enjoy on our special day. Personally, I think instead of Mother’s Day, it should be Mother’s Week!

Anyways, Mother’s Day Weekend is always really busy at our resort. It is so nice to see how many families celebrate at our place. I have a good friend who is a Preferred Member and all year she looks forward to her husband and boys treating her to a night at Lago Mar for her Mother’s Day gift. They either check-in Friday night or Saturday afternoon, and then the next 24-48 hours are all about her. She is treated to some spa treatments, gets to sleep in, sits underneath an umbrella down on the beach or in a hammock, cocktail in hand.

Of course, on Sunday the family feasts on Chef Grant’s beautiful brunch. All of our members and resort guests love the Extravaganza! There are food stations galore; a Carving Station, Omelette Station, Fresh Waffle Station, and Traditional Salad Station. Every year it is very hard to save room for dessert with Seared Corvina, Havarti Cheese and Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken Breast, and a Braised Short Rib as a few of the entrees! The only saving grace as far as calories are concerned is that this delicious hearty meal is eaten during the day (12 to 4) and we have so many activities at Lago Mar to help burn calories – beach volleyball, basketball, tennis, pickleball, swimming and, for the super disciplined guests, maybe even a quick workout in our state of the art fitness center.
