Hi! I have wonderful news to report for all of us grape connoisseurs – red wine is not only good for the heart but also benefits the skin when applied topically! It seems as though Resveratrol, which is a powerful antioxidant found in grapes, is easily absorbed by the skin and reduces inflammation and also slows the oxidation process – the key to anti- aging! Polyphenols are another antioxidant that are abundant in grapes and they can really fortify the skin. I could hardly wait to begin my Tuscan Wine Therapy Pedicure using Bella Lucce products.

red wine spa treatment

This is an unbelievable treatment. As I sat and ate grapes and drank delicious grape juice (I was officially working and did have to pick up my kids later so I had to pass on the red wine). I was experiencing “vinotherapy” at its finest! The Chianti & Grape Seed Crush, which includes Mediterranean olive oil, crushed grape seeds, blackberry fibers and red wine, was performing such miracles that I could already feel how soft and smooth my feet and legs were becoming. The Mediterranean Wine & Honey Masque was next, Olga, one of our technicians, explained to me how the gentle clays draw toxins from deep within the tissues and the olive oil locks in moisture. By the way, the smell of these products is amazing. To me the whole room smelled like homemade fruity bread. Of course, one of my favorite parts of a pedicure is the massage and Olga has the perfect touch. I had to take with me some of the Bacchus Body Oil that she was using on my skin so I can add it to my nighttime ritual at home. It is a light blend of Mediterranean olive oil and red grape seed extract that is to die for! By the way, this unique pedicure is the Spa Special for the month of May in honor of Mother’s Day. I am so glad I was able to experience this treatment first hand and let you know what a great gift it would make. Please don’t hate me because I have to endure these fabulous services all in the name of work.
