Spa Days at Lago Mar

Hi! I hope everyone is enjoying the new year! We are here at the resort! It has been a bit chilly, and by chilly we mean mid-60s to 70s, the last few days so I think some of our guests have really taken advantage of our spa and been very happy. I spoke to one of our guests that tried the Tropical Pedicure and she loved it! She especially appreciated the deep exfoliation that came from the Fiji sugar cane ...

Christmas in Fort Lauderdale

Hi! It is obvious with all of our beautiful decorations that the holidays are in full swing here at the resort. Also, throughout our city, many much loved festivities are taking place! Last Tuesday was the 53rd Annual Christmas on Las Olas, and, wow, I think this year had record attendance and energy! I remember when I was a little girl (about 40 years ago) and we would walk down Las Olas that evening and visit the different stores enjoying ...

Dine Out Lauderdale

Hi! Monday night I went to 15th Street Fisheries for dinner and enjoyed "Dine Out Lauderdale”, which is a six-week celebration of our top restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. There are more than 35 restaurants participating by offering specially-created, three course menus at a $35 fixed price. I absolutely love 15th Street Fisheries, upstairs and downstairs, so I decided to go there. If Chris and I take the kids out with us we usually sit downstairs because it is more casual and ...

I celebrated my 49th birthday, but to be honest, I don’t really feel 49. This is all because my kids and I have recently begun a clean and healthy diet. You’ll be excited to know that Chef Phil is also feeling healthy and building a new menu.

Birthday and Healthy New Menu

Hi! Yesterday I celebrated my 49th birthday, but to be honest, I don’t really feel 49. This is all because my kids and I have recently begun a clean and healthy diet. You’ll be excited to know that Chef Phil is also feeling healthy and building a new menu. This new menu, which will be coming out in the fall, has some great new choices for those of us who are really trying to live the clean life. Personally, I am ...

Lago Mar this Weekend

Hey! This is Demi, filling in for my mom. My siblings, cousins, and I all had an awesome time at the Lago Mar this weekend. We actually spent both days there! On Saturday, after playing tennis with my coach for an exhausting couple of hours on the new and improved tennis courts, I was extremely grateful for several moments of peace as I laid on the hammock with nothing but a virgin strawberry daiquiri. Over the music coming from my ...

Post Labor Day at Lago Mar

By: Debbie Banks, Lago Mar Resort and Club Hi! I can’t believe that summer is over and Labor Day has passed! Where is the time going? I actually spent the Labor Day Weekend away from the resort because Demi was playing in a high level tournament in Boca Raton all weekend. She did really well but we did miss all of the excitement that comes with a holiday weekend at Lago Mar. I heard from many members that it was great time! This past weekend we planned ...

A delicious unending Wine Dinner

By: Debbie Banks, Lago Mar Resort and Club Hi! This is a blog that I actually wrote during a wine dinner! Saturday night we celebrated with a ten-course dinner, "Tapas and Wine from Spain". When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of sangria then we were off to Acquario to begin our adventure. The first course was absolutely delicious, orange saffron sous vide scallop, fennel orange salad, micro arugula. Arugula is my absolute favorite food in the world! The second course was ...
