Upcoming productions at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts

Hi! Let me just tell you how excited I am about a few upcoming productions at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts that I am going to see with my kids!

First, I am going to take the girls to see Phantom of the Opera, which is in town November 19th – 30th. I have actually been fortunate enough to see Phantom in London and New York, and I’m dying for the girls to enjoy it for the first time! We’ve already listened to soundtrack to prepare us for a spectacular show. But how can you start off such a wonderful evening without stopping by the one and only Lobster Bar and Sea Grille for a grown-up girls’ dinner?

Next month, on December 6th, I’m taking all four kids to see Willy Wonka Jr. I loved Roald Dahl’s story Willy Wonka when I was young and I am excited to share this with them. We’re thinking about heading to Fork and Balls for our post-show dinner. The kids love the food and atmosphere there! Coincidentally, we were just there the other night.

A little about Fork and Balls – the concept is so cool! The restaurant offers practically every variety of meatball you could think of, served on top of an equally diverse selection of dishes. When we were there the other night, I ordered the vegetarian meatballs over arugula and it was to die for. My two girls had spicy meatballs over spinach, apparently trying to live on the edge as usual. Chipper had traditional spaghetti and meatballs, served in a big bowl, and Sailor chose the meatball sliders with fun toothpicks. As always, the vibe appealed to both adults and children. The whole restaurant just screamed creative. Even the door handle replicated forks! We wish December 6th was sooner because we’re all already craving more delicious meatballs!

In addition to Phantom and Willy Wonky, we are also looking into attending The Nutcracker, which will be in town December 12th and 13th. Of course, we will be calling Lisa from SitInMySeats for the best tickets.

I have impressed upon my children throughout their lives that experiences and memories make better gifts than material things. We look forward to making new memories and enjoying new experiences this holiday season!
