Executive Chef Phillip Damien Kahn
Lago Mar Resort & Club's Executive Chef Phillip Damien Kahn believes that food should not only taste great, but should also be artful and eye appealing. Such creativity comes naturally to a chef who thinks outside the box, expressing his creative spirit through food in a never-ending search for fresh flavor combinations and new dishes.
Chef Phillip began his culinary career at age 16, working for his older brother at Bear Mountain Inn in the Hudson Highlands 45 miles north of New York City. After high school, he headed south to Florida where he served as sous chef at Baccarat restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and received acclaim for his cuisine at Churchill's Fine Dining in Cooper City. In Houston, Texas, Chef Phillip joined Culinaire International where he refined his skills at upscale high-volume events such as the Country Music Awards After-Party in Nashville, Tennessee, and the Symphony Center Fundraiser with Sir Elton John in Dallas, Texas.
Upon returning to South Florida, Chef Phillip accepted the position of executive chef at Lago Mar Resort & Club. Acquario's focus on modern American bistro cuisine reflects ingredients and preparation techniques from around the world and the menu changes seasonally to please our guests with fresh new flavors.
